A Century of Family Farming

Growing Fruit, Fun & Memories Since 1920

Rooted in Caledon Since 1920

Downey’s Farm has proudly welcomed families to the Caledon countryside for almost 40 years, growing fruit, fun, and memories along the way. We are committed to growing fresh fruits and vegetables using sustainable farming practices while helping guests connect with agriculture through hands-on experiences and family fun.

Our team works hard to provide high-quality products and create a safe, welcoming place for everyone who visits the farm..

From Sweet Corn to Family Traditions

This 100-acre farm has been owned and operated by the Downey family since 1920. Today, Downey’s Farm is a 4th generation family farm and a 2nd generation agritourism destination.

In 1987, founders John and Ruth Downey opened a small roadside stand where their five children sold sweet corn to help pay for extra hockey equipment. What started as a simple family project quickly grew into something much larger.

Over the years, the family renovated the original dairy barn into a bustling farm market filled with fresh Ontario fruits and vegetables, homemade preserves, local honey, maple syrup, and baked goods made right on the farm.

Growing Memories for New Generations

Today, Downey’s Farm has grown into one of Caledon’s favourite family destinations, welcoming guests throughout the seasons for pick-your-own experiences, farmyard activities, school trips, seasonal festivals, fresh baking, and farm market shopping.

The farm continues to be privately owned and operated by John and Ruth’s youngest daughter, Darlene, and her husband Nathan, who continue the family tradition of sharing the farm with new generations of visitors each year.

We look forward to welcoming you to the farm!
