The Downey's Estate Winery was established in 2001, and within just one year began to enjoy remarkable acclaim for our wide variety of delicious fruit wines.

Try the Canadian award winning fine wines available at Downey's Estate Winery, North of Brampton, OntarioIn our very first year, we were able to capture 11 top awards at the Canadian International Wine Challenge (CIWC) at the Toronto Wine & Cheese Show. (You may want to read our short history).

We have continued to win awards, but more importantly, we have continued to please our customers with high quality and fine taste of our wines.

From the Fields

Good fruit wines begin with delicious fresh fruits andberries, and our good taste begins right here in the fields and orchards of Downey Farm. Black Currant and Red Currant, Raspberry, Gooseberry, Elderberry,Blackberry, Blueberry, and our Strawberry Sunrise are all "from the field" favorites.

For the discerning palette, we invite you to also try our Crimson Cranberry, Strawberry Rhubarb, and Black Pearl (a sweet version of our customer favorite, Black Currant Wine).

From the Orchards

From the orchard, we offer Autumn Pear, Apple Crisp, Peach Passion, and Premium Apple. The Autumn Pear has won both Gold and Silver Medals at Canadian Wine competitions.

From the Vineyards

We think you will also enjoy our vineyard wines, and the assortment we have made available. Our Baco Noir is a Downey's wines have consistent won national acclaim...visit Downey's Estate Winery and sampling room, Downey's Farm, north of Brampton, OntarioSilver Award winner. We also carry Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Gamay on the red side. Seyval, Pinot Grigio, and Chardonnay represent our whites.

Dessert Wines

the Year and Best Sweet Berry Wine at the Canadian Wine Awards in 2003, and repeated again in 2007.

Our Cassis, featuring a rich texture of Black Currants, has won gold, two silver and two bronze medals.  Strawberry Sunset is definitely a favorite of many, and has won a bronze medal at the Toronto Wine and Cheese Show.

Iced Wines

We have developed several delicious iced wines we know you will enjoy. These include Blueberry Ice, Apple Ice, Iced Peach, Ice 04 Vidal Ice, and our Cranberry Ice, which has also won several medals.

So many choices-so how do you choose? Please, we would love to have you come visit the Downey Estates Winery Tasting Room, and enjoy our complimentary samples to help you make your decisions. Good wine is best enjoyed in good company, so bring along your friends for a great day at the farm.
